  • Nestled in front of a green belt area, this residence is located in one of the few last empty lots in south Seattle. The lot is affected by Environmental Critical Areas that the design team addressed. The best part of this project was the close collaboration that Minga had with the owner: an appasionated builder with a Structural Engineering background who will be building the house with his own hands. For the beam spans, we factored in how much weight he is comfortable lifting by himself. It doesn't get more personal than that! Affordability was another key component that went into the design of the 2,232 SF residence, with 1,034 sf of deck space that allows the family to enjoy the surrounding natural environment.
